Finding Case's carbon steel pocketknives just got easier

Maybe they will pay attention to the number of hits on that page and reallize the interest in CV from the knife -buying public. good going MNBLADE

Great job! Just after I figure out the complete CV line on my own.......
Now we got to start convincing them to make more CV offerings!

That's great!!!
I already emailed the webmaster thanking him/her, as well as hinting towards a desire for more CV variety.

Now if we really want to dream, how about a Tony Bose collaboration in CV? Hmmmmmmm?   ;)

Well done, Case. Hopefully this will serve as impetus to produce even more of the wonderful CV offerings.

I spoke to Tony Bose this morning about maybe trying to use his influence with Case to produce more knives in CV (and he may since he also loves carbon steel). Problem is that he told me that CV only represents about 5% of their market so I don't know how likely it is that they'll expand the lineup.

That said, I mentioned to Tony that in knives that are produced in limited numbers (like the Case-Bose collaborations), I have no doubt that a run of a few hundered knives in CV would sell out.

Let's hope this makes its way to Case's HQ and falls upon receptive ears.

+1 With Tony on our side, and more folks discovering the beauty and utility of carbon steel, I hope to see more offerings in CV.

On another forum recently I posted something about CV in different styles...NO response from the Case people at all. I would love more options. I don't buy any stainless steel Case knives. I'm a CV junkie you could say. If it isn't in CV I don't buy it. Nothing against the SS, I just love watching steel age with a nice patina.

I don't doubt that that's true. But I also know that with anything resembling halfway decent marketing/PR on Case's part, they could double that (or more) in no time. Let's face it, Case does damn near nothing to promote their CV line.

I just KNOW there are customers out there who want a good, reliable carbon steel pocketknife and lament that "nobody makes 'em like that anymore," especially with Schrade biting the dust. As we know, Case DOES make 'em like that - they just have to do a better job of spreading the word about their carbon steel offerings. This link on their web site is at least a step in the right direction, IMO.

Very cool, mnblade. I was going to reply to The Last Confederate's "Dear Case, will you build me a..." thread this morning, but had to stop for fear of wishing for a knife that they already made. Then I saw your thread, and checked it out real quick. Sure enough, they don't make a Baby Butterbean in CV. But they should...

Absolutely right. They treat CV as some sort of secret. They should step up and take ownership of the US made carbon steel folder. Period.
Sounds like Zippo/Case should invite a few of us to PA to give them our 2 cents and free marketing advice.:)

Why does Case offer so many traditional patterns, traditional scales, but so few traditional steels? After all, the blade is where the rubber meets the road. Oh yeah..I forgot CV doesn't look as good in a display case.

that's a good page, and it would be nice to see more offerings in the CV.

that page will save me some time in the future thumbing through the catalogue searching for the letters CV next to the serial number.

I don't know why Case doesn't just create a custom shop like Buck has. I'm not asking for a bazillion choices of high-end steels, etc., just the chance to mix-and-match the offerings they're already producing. How hard would it be to take, say, a trapper frame with CV blades, and just put on some other handles? And by definition these "custom shop" knives would all be sold before they're even produced (and sold at a premium price, I might add), so where's the risk?
