Recently I've noticed a lot of posts asking,"Where can I find information on....."
Before posting a request,a few simple things may take care of the request.
FIRST - Do a Google search for the exact thing you want.If it is how to tie a square lanyard, search,"Tying a square lanyard".You will get MANY sites and tutorials. If the results aren't exactly the ones you want, try wording the search differently (this is a good idea even if you get a good hit on the first search).Try "Lanyard tying","Lanyard","Braiding",etc.
SECOND - Try a search on this (and other) forum. The search does not always work too good,so this may or may not help.
THIRD - Go to www.knifehow.com and look for the information site you need.If you found a good one elsewhere, post it in the "Submit a Tutorial/Link " area. That way other makers and newbies can benefit from your find.+There are over 300 tutorials and info sites on knifehow.
FOURTH - Check the sticky's at the top of the page.
LAST - Post a question on the BF.After you have done a bit of research ,you may still have questions about how to do something, but you will at least have some background info on the subject. When asking the question, always give the information needed to answer it.
Such things as material involved, metal type, wood type, blade style, etc.
Also post links to the sites you got your info from. That way we can all be on the same page.
This site is here to help all knifemakers learn and share information and techniques.Having done the background research yourself will help prevent the same questions being asked over and over again.Posting the results of your searches will help others learn new thing, too.
