Man, I can hardly restrain myself from using Buy it Now for this! Seller has it listed as being in FINE condition! Wow, I can't imagine what one would look like that he thought was beat up. LMAO

Those are the post-nuclear holocaust pics where only this general and a few cockroaches survived:p

Rather than "fine" how about beat-up, or abused, or needs a little tlc (Leroy).

Actually, the damage to the knife is quite shallow and should almost all polish out with a good wheel. The blade appears not to have been amateur sharpened. The knife probably would clean up quite well.

Too bad it does not appear to have a sheath.

Apparently one person thinks it is worth the opening bid of $24.95. I'm not willing to do the work but at that price the knife is probably worth it.

The seller is a real optimist to class the condition as "fine."

I bought a beater for $5 and, with less effort than I should have put into it, cleaned it up to a point where it would be a good user. Leroy could probably have made it perfect, but for the grinder marks near the guard. The flap over sheath that came with it was worth more than the $5.

Telechronos:):):)

I don't think it's hopeless and could be fixed with very little effort. I agree, though, it's far from FINE. That's one man's opinion.

Jack

Yeah, even if it is fixable, the use of the word fine describing that thing is a real stretch.

a good sharpening and you'd have a good workhorse knife...and the price its at is pretty good (btw, there is no buy it now button)

It might make a great user after some work, that's not the point I was making. And there was a BIN button for $49.95 + shipping. That went away when the bid was placed.

:D Fine indeed! I can see how it could be considered "fine" if something in that condition was found in an archeological dig dating from the Roman era.

Buy Bucks now for the future. :)

:p It reminds me of a History International program I saw where they excavated a 2K+ year old Saxon cemetary. They found a sword that was considered in "fine" condition. If you had a good imagination, you "might" be able to tell the mass of rust had originally been a sword.

Even a vision challenged person handling that 120 could tell it wasn't in fine condition.

Guys, it's a group 3, 1981 could be either 440C or 425M steel . I have the same model bought new in 1981 and carried it elk and deer hunting for years and it still doesn't look in as bad condition as this one . But a good knife maker can polish most all of these scratches out . DM

I guess Janet Reno is a fine looking woman:jerkit::eek::barf:

I've given this a lot of thought and am pretty sure I know where the seller was coming from. You know when someone asks you how your doing and you always just say "fine" Even if your not....?

So whats the condition of the knife? Oh, its fine....;)
