It seems like I can find non finger groove 110's everywhere, but I have never seen a finger groove model for sale in any store. Are they made in substantially less numbers?

Buck came out with that feature in 1981 and have made them in good quantities ever since. They are a up grade. Have you looked on Buck's website? DM

The Buck Knife Web site does not appear to show a 110 with finger grooves. They did make some 50 year anniversary 110'a with finger grooves - I have one.

They are on there.
click the regular 110, then below the big photo there are 2 small thumbnails for the standard and fingergroove ones, click the right side one and then it shows the details for the fingergrooved model.

I have my custom 110 coming from Buck this Thursday, and I got finger grooves and nickel bolsters on this one simply because I don't have one with them. I also threw in the american oak scales, serrated edge and tan leather sheath.

Buck's 110 finger groove model is currently offered in the latest Mid-South catalog. They're easy to find. DM

Did someone mention finger grooves!

You don't need no stinking finger grooves. Uh uh. You know what? Buy them new and they are shiny bright glistening golden brilliance. But age them a few years and, oh oh oh, you're gonna end up with deep reddish golden rich deep beauty with heavenly rolling curves all over the place. Yup. It does happen.

You are welcome and it is my pleasure Desert Dave. I love this stuff.

Taking some photos of the discussion's target blade gets me in a terrific space where I can really appreciate the objects of my desire. Fun for me. I don't have the gift of gab or a deep understanding of most things but I know what I like.
