I KNOW THIS SUBJECT HAS BEEN DISCUSSED A HUNDERED TIMES HERE IN THE FORUMS, BUT I CANNOT FIND IT. IN HOW TO MAKE FOLDING KNIVES, RON LAKE USES THE FINGER OR FORKED SPRING IN HIS FOLDER. I CANNOT FIND ANYWHERE IN THE BOOK WHAT KIND OF STEEL HE USES. CAN SOMEONE PLESE TELL ME A GOOD STEEL FOR THIS TYPE OF SPRING? ALSO, HE USES A BUTTON SCRIBE TO SCRIBE THE RADIUS OF THE TANG. WHERE CAN I BUY ONE OF THESE BUTTON SCRIBES?
I NOTICED IN ANOTHER THREAD IT IS SAID THAT 440C IS NOT GOOD SPRING METAL. HOW ABOUT ATS-34? THANKS AND TAKE CARE! MICHAEL

Its easy. You find any animated character online, right click on it and click save as picture. If you veiw it on your computer, it will only appear as a still picture, but once its uploaded to the www, it will be animated again. To be able to post it online, you have to upload to the internet. I'm on aol, so I upload to aol"s "my place". When you upload it, you'll have to name it, the first part doesn't matter, but it must end with .jpg
I named it gunmn.jpg
Once you have uploaded it to the internet, type this where ever you want to post the animated character.

Type that but with < before it and > after it. I tried to post it with the brackets, but it just shows up as a cartoon.
If you don't wanna mess with all that, you're welcome to use mine. Just put this between the brackets where you want it posted.

he makes that button on his lathe....440c makes a great spring...if properly heat treated to spring temper.....ron uses the same metal in the back of the knife that he does for the blade...trust me....
