Well almost...got to buff the holsters but otherwise I'm finished with the wife's family.

I'd like to know what you fellas think of the liners. This is the first time I tried that and probably would have used another color but white was all I had in the shop. Does that look OK?

Looks fantastic. Every time I see creations like this I can’t help but wonder how you all do this. Would not even know how to start. Great looking.

I like it...
Great job. I have always liked liners, really gives it a nice touch.

Hey thanks everyone. I was having the thought that the liner is too thick and maybe white wasn't the right color. So I happy with it then. I'll buff up the bolsters and send her out today.

Clint, that is KOA with Birchwood Tru-Oil. I've used Boiled Linseed Oil and Teak Oil on my projects but the Tru-Oil when dry has a bit of a semi-gloss finish that I like.

Thanks guys. g

I used Tru-Oil on a Bishop French Walnut Model 12 stock and it really does a great job. I never thought about it on a knife scale before. That's a butey!

Great looking scales, but personally I don't like white liners in general & definitely not with these scales. I always prefer a darker liner.
Just my $.02, since you asked.

You gotta love that KOA flamewood. I have a custom finger groove 110 with BG-42 blade and would love to get a companion 112 of similar design. Its just the best wood for scales I've seen. Your work looks great too! I don't have a problem with the liners. I think they look fine. Depending on ones taste a color more creative than white might have added more interest. Just my opinion though.

Mike,

White was all I had when I decided to do it with a liner. I'll be stocking up on a few more color options when I put in my next order for supplies at Texas Knife. But yea, a little color would have been better...I agree. Its one of the reasons I asked for opinions cause I knew it in my gut too.

I hate to say this, but surely you can do better. That is just sub-standard for your work. I can help, of course, after all - it is 'the Season'. Just forward that thing to me and I'll keep it out of sight. No, you don't have to thank me for my service - it is the Season!

Seriously - WOW! Hey, I'm a f-i-l... I'll be lucky to get a foot massager that won't work! Great job.

Merry Christmas, all!

John

Flatlander, I think it looks great.I like wood.:thumbup:The liner is on an issue with me.I think you do great on it and the others that you have shown us here.
Keep up the good work.

Thank you all for your comments. This new found hobby has been great fun for me and I really appreciate everyone interest.

My father in law got his knife along with the rosewood 110 for an Uncle out there. He liked it. The last knife I gave in was a collectable 500 and he lost it in the garden. We'll see how it goes with this one.

Merry Christmas to all ya'll. g
