Man o' Man I'm tickled to death about finially getting a TNT. I bought it from a fellow forumite over on the general sale board. Good deal too. I'm winding down on "got to have" knives but that was one of the two left I've been lusting over. It's definetely going into the EDC rotation.

I've only held one briefly and really liked it...that one happened to be Chuck Buck's TNT. When I met him last fall I asked "so Chuck what Buck knife you got in your pocket?" And he handed me his TNT.

Anyway, I'd like to compare notes with you guys that have one when mine gets here...it shipped today so maybe Saturday with luck. :D:D:D I'm just delighted about it.

love mine. i'd like to pick up one of the ltd's with CF but they are up there a little ways

If the TNT has the same clip and screws as the Cutback and Hilo, back them out and put a touch of blue locktite on them. That is if you are going to edc it using the clip.

You will love it.

Congrats on the new TNT Faltlander. It's a very nice knife. I just recently picked one up in trade not to long ago, and it's great.

Rat, funny you should say that. I lost one of my clip screws last week. I emailed Buck to see if I could get a replacement, and got a reply from Tracy telling me I need to send the knife in. I guess they don't send clip screws out. (All the remaining ones have locktite on them now. :D )

I lost one screw a year or so back in a 174. Two seems to be holding ok.
and they haven't loosened since. Use the blue, or red, if you don't want them to ever come out again, which might be ok for those.

TNT came today. Wow!! I was a little concerned with how the faux guard until I felt it and used it just a little...know I think it's one of the best designs ever. All ya'll Bucksters out there need to get one of these for EDC. It is light...It is thin...It opens with ease, and lockup is rock solid. Oh and the blade is perfectly centered closed.

I'm going take the clip off and store it and this knife will be my everyday pocket carry. I am very very pleased.

Glad you like it. I found mine to be one of the slickest opening knives I own. It really feels like it's on greased ball bearings. :D

While it is a very nice knife, its, well, a tad pricey for me... I also didnt care for the "horn" on the back of the handle.

I'll wait for the Vantage Pro. I am glad you like yours though ;)

Congrats on the new Buck.. I've never looked at one in person, but they look like they would be a great knife.. I spotted the new version with Carbon Fiber in the 09 Catalog :D. Very cool...

Just went to the website and saw the retail price.. 450.00

Well the reason I hadn't bought one earlier was that it was a tad pricey for me also. But I was over on the general sale forum and lucked up and got it for $128 NIB to the front door. I had to jump on it.

I was also leary of the horn as you call it (one on bottom too), but it really gives confidence for push cutting. Yes, the horn ain't too pretty.

Now, the geometry on the blade is excellent and should be a great cutter. I'm looking forward to comparing the TNT's geometry with the Vantage's. The profile looks identical.

Jimmer, hey is the grind the same on the Vantage and TNT?

I don't mind the looks, but my thumb didnt like it ;)
The blade geometry is hard to beat! Its a great knife don't get me wrong, its just not for every Buckster ;)

Well I've been everyday carrying my TNT for a couple of weeks now. OK, I've stopped feeling all blubbery about it. However, its is probably the best blade geometry on I knife that I've ever owned/used. I love it. The size for me is perfect. The weight is so light it just amazes me. The way it feels in my hand is just great.

Now, here is the I don't likes:
1. I hate tip down clip systems and to make matters worse the horn (which I like while handling) is a issue if clipped in front pocket. Frankly, it just cuts across my knuckles. I just can't use it that way.
2. I pocket carry in the same pocket with my keys and change...always have and guess I always will. The open back collects change. This is a pain in the arse.

So, its been clipped in my back right pocket were it's working out just fine. Without a doubt, I'm still delighted with this knife. I just wish that I could change the clip location and have tip up carry in the front pocket.

I still say all you Bucksters should give this knife a try, it is a wonderful piece of cutlry.
