Finish on Glock 78 wearing off.

I was given a new Glock 78 a couple weeks ago by a friend. I really like it, but it does have one problem, the finish on the blade is wearing off. Most wear is occurring at the very tip and on the corners. I really haven’t used the knife much; so far I have thrown it a few times at hay bales and chopped at a few pieces of wood. Is this normal? Is the finish of this knife usually worse than that of other knifes of comparable price such as the Ka-bar? Is there any way to stop the wearing?

Try looking at it this way, it adds character to the knife.
'm assuming the blade is coated with black something or other.
Best way to keep it from coming off is , not to use it. :D
