Sorry if this is not appropriate to post here... I just get a little excited when I actually finish something, since I don't have much time in the shop these days. But if it matters, this knife is not for sale, nor am I looking for orders. Just thought I'd share & see what you guys think. This bowie was inspired by an antique in one of Wilson's books.

Thanks for the feedback, Keith. The blade is O-1, sterling fittings, and a piece of stag that naturally had an extremely fine texture. I'm not happy with the finish. All the edges kept getting rounded over when I switched from stones to sandpaper. The stones left a surface where every surface was flat and sharp as glass, but it kept getting messed up with paper, so I need to figure out something better.

I'm attaching two more pictures of the whole group to give you a better idea of the size. I notice the first two pics above got a bit skewed, making the knife look a bit stubby. It seems more graceful in these next photos. I wasn't trying to mislead anyone here; I just wanted an honest unbiased opinion, judged like any full sized knife. I figure if people can tell it's a miniature just from the photos, I've failed.

The damascus bladed one it fitted with pearl and gold, and the spearpoint is an integral (also O-1) with ivory and gold. Its scabbard is ebony with silver trim & a gold frog.

I usually can tell a miniature from the photos, but on these I can't. That is a great complment to your work. Miniatures don't usually turn my crank, but I like these very much.

I am dumbfounded that those are miniatures. Fantastic work on all of them.
I am with Keith, although I have always apprecited them and the work that goes into them. (Not to mention the burned fingers from grinding:).) I have never taken the plunge but those are tempting.

Dang it :D one minute I am thinking of swords and now I see these. ;)

I gotta go along with everyone else on this one.I saw that first bowie and the 1st thought in my head was"I Gotta have one of those".I figured the blade was around 10-11 inhces in length.I was totally floored when I saw the Actual size of it.Definately Two Thumbs Up on the Detail,Fit & Finish -You sure Fooled Me:thumbup:
