Just finished this little guy for my nephew. I think he will like it. He is just starting in Cub Scouts, so I of course HAD to make him a knife to learn with. Forged this one from O1 1/2 inch round stock. Now I need to work on a sheath for him. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Thanks guys. I don't think he'll outgrow it for quite some time. When he does I guess I'd be FORCED to make him something bigger.

Hi BReid126 -

Nice present! You forged this out of bar stock? Sweet!

I am sure your nephew will love that little guy - it looks like a Miniature Nessmuk to me.

Thanks for the pictures -

best regards -

You know I was thinking the same thing! When he gets to be 14-15 and wants a "saw back hollow handle survival knife" tell him to give you that knife back for safe keeping and when he gets older than that he will realize how handy a little knife like that is, and want it back!

As you asked, I'd be inclined to put a guard on something like that for a little guy.

Nice job. It looks like a little nessmuk to me too.

As I was working on this one I nicknamed it lil' Nessie. A guard might be handy to prevent cuts, unfortunately I'm very much an amateur knife maker and the skills aren't there yet.
