David just sent me these pics of the finished sheath gor the big Fighting Bowie and I'm blown away

The sheath is Carbon fiber over Alaskan yellow cedar than wrapped in leather.

The sheath is a piece of functionaly Art in its own right

David's East meets West design and his choice of using ancient and modern materials screams uniqueness and timeless beauty

the dude is IN TOUCH with his place. It's like he's channeling 10s of thousands of years of human history in the north and writing it down in steel and bone, interpreting it all in a way that's his very own.

Will Dave be in Seattle again?

THAT is an awesome blade! Getting the perfect mixture of old and new, east and west, dark and light... that's what art is all about.

Are you the lucky owner Joe?

On the one hand, there is understatement abundant in this piece: Soft materials, warm delicately patterned steel, a pleasing grip.

On the other hand, the piece is also IN YOUR FACE with it's aggressive stance, the juxtaposition of methods and materials, and crazy styling.

It has something for everyone! :D

Good thread!
