Hey there everyone, I just finished making my BK-11 all purty yesterday and I wanted to share some pictures

The scales are Krytoglows, so later tonight/tomorrow I'll take a picture of them glowing if people are interested.
I'm really happy with how it turned out. I've had the patina on for a few days and this knife is a user and I've been really surprised how well its held up.
Thanks to anyone who takes the time to look at this!

Great job! I just love the 11. And you'll be glad you left the coating on under the handle scales.

Yeah, I was about to strip it off too, but I decided with how much I use it (its my EDC) any extra corrosion resistance would be nice. Plus I think it looks better with the dark scales like that.

My goodness, those scales look fantastic. Did they come like that or did you have to file them yourself?

Kryptoglow made them like that. They are super comfortable and are really grippy. Mad props to him for the craftsmanship. I didn't even know they were glow in the dark until I went to bed to other night and noticed them glowing!

The scales are fantastic! And the pattern you got on the blade looks great. The scales and patina really complement one another. Do they make scales for the 14? Planning to get one and trying to decide between scales for it or a paracord wrap.

Thanks for the compliments!

I don't know if there are anymore scales, I got these from www.kryptoglow.com and they were the last ones they had. It also said on the sight that they weren't making anymore, I don't remeber if they had any 14 scales but you can always check it out.

That being said, I had my 11 paracord wrapped for a while and while its more comfortable than just a bare blade, its far more comfortable with scales. Theres benefits to each though. no wrap is really thin and easy to slip in a pocket and you don't even notice it. Paracord makes it a little more comfortable to hold and gives you cordage if you ever need it. Scales are the most comfortable hands down, but they weigh the most and take up the most space. I've carried this now each way for a while and I like scales the best. Just my coins for the boatman...(2 cents, haha)

They have some scales for the 14, but nothing nearly as awesome looking as the ones on your 11. Guess I'll keep looking....

I have a new 11 sitting in the dresser and have been waiting for some inspiration. That'll do. Thanks.

I tell you guys what, Sriracha is the way to go for patina designs, it works really well. I used it for the design and then Diet Coke to do the covering patina.

Thanks for the tip.
I've tried similar designs with ketchup, mustard, vinegar, and few other things and it never comes out so I sand it off and go for solid.
Now, I may try again - because that looks awesome!
