Finished my BK9 mods

Finally decided to get around to finishing my ideas for my BK9. Got some orange G10 scales made up this morning :) They are a little slimmer at .262 per side and I like how that fits my paw. I added traction grooves just cause :D For attaching the scales I used stainless steel machine screws. I turned the stainless nuts round to match my counterbore on the right side slab. The previous mods were drop pointing the tip, losing the thumb ramp, and reshaping the guard on the Remora to fit my finger.

Bill you should really consider making those scales available in different colors for sale to other Beckerheads-you'd make a killing:D
Very nice work, I like the drop point. Did you just strip it or did you do something else to it cuz the blade color looks different(and really cool)
Leave it to the guy who makes some of the best knives to one up the rest of us in the mods dept too. Makin' it look all professional ans stuff;)

Oh no. Not going commercial with scales. These are a labor of love. Maybe if I had a CNC but not doing em by hand. The blade is factory coated. I only removed the coating from the spine of the blade when i removed the thumb ramp and clip. I plan on removing the coating later via use :D As to other colors of grips, I sure would love to see Kabar offer some Grivory in other colors. OD Green would kill on the black blades!!!!! They should really consider it. Maybe not as a complete knife but just as extra accessories.

also Ethan needs a certain toy, or two in 5160 :>

That means a lot coming from you Ethan. Been a big fan ever since first seeing a wood handled Machax at a gun show in Glens Falls NY. Couldn't afford one at 17 but I knew I wanted one! Got my first one during the Blackjack days :)
