Finally finished my first knife that I fully made. Forged 1084 with osage orange handle. I have improved my hammering so my second and third blades that I am working on is much improved. There are alot of things I missed on this guy, including some slips on the belt which would be overly difficult to get clean up with out thrashing the handle. Its gonna be my own knife in the shop, see how well it holds up.

Always comments are welcome.

Congrats, Quint!!
That looks like a great bench knife, way better than some first knives I've known.. (*ahem*).
Nice job lining up the grain on the spine of the scales.

Thanks a bunch guys, Daizee I will admit there is several feet of metal that didnt make it this far.

I wouldnt worry about the belt marks and such on a forged blade, gives it character. I did notice that it had a little bow in it though, I assume it was from the HT or is it a trick of the light? Looks good otherwise.

I think there is just a tad of a bow to it from my inexperienced forging. Its not as noticeable in person but its still there. I am just starting out in the forging craft so its a learning process to say the least. On this one the area at the end of the scales is just a tad off also from the rest of the handle area. I had concentrated more in the ends and not paid as much attention to the middle area.

Good fun though.
