I’ve dabbled in knife making over the last few years, I’ve probably forged about 25 knives, spare time is tough to come by and when it does it has to compete with other interests.
Anyway I just completed my first tomahawk.
I started out with a piece of mild steel 1.5”x6”x.25” and forged it down and wrapped it around a 1.5” pipe to rough in the eye, then drew out the body and forge welded it together and tapered the eye a little. I also forge welded in a damascus bit I had left over from another project for the cutting edge.
It’s on a curly maple handle that I dyed with leather dye and finished with a couple coats of TruOil.

Thanks to all those here. Yall have been a great resource and inspiration.
