Well, I managed to fumble my way through another homemade sheath project. Tried to go for a two tone look but after I oiled it up everything darkened up quite a bit and now the colors all kinda looked the same. I'm hoping the color of the scabbard leather will lighten back up and show the difference between it and the strap and dangler parts. Please forgive the amateurish looking stitch work but I think she'll hold up and do the job.

What fire said! - nice touch! and outstanding job! There's a lot to be proud of there Big Clampin' Daddy!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks everyone. This is the third sheath I have made and every time it makes me really appreciate the work done by real sheath makers. How they make any money on it is beyond me. Considering the time it takes me to make one, if I were trying to sell them, I'd be working for less than minimum wage. Lol!

Thanks guys. There has definitely been something to be learned from each of the three that I've made. The main lesson I got out of this one is that the Kukri's curved shape gives it a somewhat odd point of balance when it is hanging. Mine ended up hanging with the handle tipped back. Not good for carrying on the right side but when carried crossdraw the handle tips forward, which actually worked out perfectly for me. I can't stand wearing a leg tie so with a dangler I kinda have to use one hand to hold the sheath while I pull the knife with the other, which I can't do if I carry it strongside.

I was really curious about that very thing, how does it hang? With that explanation I totally get how you would strap it. I've never had a knife with a dangler/hanger sheath and was very curious about this. The Kukri isn't something I see myself with, but I also have never held or swung one, and maybe I shouldn't? But if I did, I could absolutely see asking you - "How much to make me one?" it looks that good
