This is my third knife complete.

It's 1095 with a blade length of 11" from tip to guard.
OAL is about 16 1/2"

I tried to pull out the hamon this time but I wasn't deep enough into the steel. Finish was up to 2000x with the etch cycles but I brought it back to 800x to even it out.

Guard and pommel are mild steel. The undersides of the tines in the guard are textured as is the domed end cap.

Handle is stabilized redwood burl from M.Griffin and is really nice.

Balance point rests on the ricasso.

Sheath overlays are beaver tail. I got right to the end of this sheath and blotched the front so it ended up a little darker than intended. Well it'll have to do for now..

It was an ambitious project again so early in my knifemaking and I made mistakes but I learned a whole lot. It was humbling and furthered my respect and admiration for all the talented knifemakers out there.

Thanks for looking

-Stuart

All I can say is that I am blown away by how quickly you are progressing. This is a terrific knife. I expect to see you at the next Toronto CKG show.

That is a fine looking knife 3rd or 50 and excellent sheath,be proud I would be----Regards Butch

Man, Stuart, that thing looks great. Is the front of the guard slightly concave, or am I seeing things? I've seen your other knives on here, and I'm really impressed.

Thanks a lot everyone. I'm having fun with this for sure. Just wish I didn't have a day job. Between that and the kids and trying to do knives and sheaths, I'm seriously short on sleep. I think that's why I botched the sheath this time...:o:(

Hey Tad, here's a better pic of the guard.

Very nice Stuart, your really whipping them out now. The raised top clip looks great . Nice job and the sheath makes for an outstanding package.:thumbup:

+1 on all the compliments!
Keep up the great work buddy:)

Stuart,

That's an awsome guard shape. I think the overall lines on the first one are hard to beat.

I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Stuart for two years now. It is thanks I owe to him for sparking the passion I now enjoy for knifemaking. Stu has shared with me most of the details of the planning and construction of each piece he has made so far. I have also had the pleasure of being one of the first's to hold and admire his creations.
I can say without a doubt that Stuart will soon be in the ranks of the makers and artists that Stu so fondly admires.
Congradulations on your third my brother!

I think we have another ringer here. What exactly do you do for a living and for your other hobbies?:D

Thanks everyone.

I do woodworking for a living. Very high end custom home stuff. I'm do the millwork while my buddy Shanto^^ does all the fancy joinery work.

I have very little "spare" time and have a steady stream of sheath work beyond the knifemaking. My main other hobby is walking around in the woods hacking things with my Jason Knight knife and I play piano to calm the mind.
