hey folks.. just thought i would share some pics of another sheath i finished, earlier in the week..

this one was for a Ray Laconico Kephart knife... it's made from 9-10 oz. veg. tanned leather.. dyed with med. brown Fiebings dye and brown/black dye on the edges.. it was finished with a few coats of beeswax..

i actually ended up trading this knife and sheath together, for a BRKT Golok, which i have been wanting for years...:)

let me know what you folks think.. feedback is always welcome...

cheers.. Mike

Hi mtnfolk mike -

That looks like a well-crafted sheath.

The color is very nice, it has a warm look to it.

Thanks for posting pictures.

best regards -

thanks guys..

Mike - that is awesome:thumbup: Do you ever make pouches or possibles bags?

MNeedham-- i have done a few smaller pouches in the past, but have yet to make a full size possibles bag.. one of these days i'll have to give it a shot...:)

Nice work Mike. Must have been hard to let that knife/sheath go, but you're going to really like that golok.

thanks for the kind words again folks..:)

JC-- it was difficult to see this knife and sheath mailed off, but it was well worth the trade for the Golok.. i have wanted one for years and so stoked i finally got one... plus, i recently scored another knife from Ray..:D

Wow, very clean, and the color is sweet.

Is all that work done by hand? I have not attempted any leather work, but when you guys post stuff like this I would like to give it a try.

thanks man.. yes, all the work was done by hand.. once you get going, it doesn't take too long... you should definitely give it a try sometime... it is a very rewarding feeling to use the stuff you make..:)

cheers.. Mike

you da man Mike.....I was just tellin Snow the other day that I think you make the best leather goods.

Another nice one Mike!

I noticed, it seems you've been making more square ended sheaths lately. Is there a reason? Are you moving to that as a standard pattern? Or are you just experimenting a little?

wow.. thanks again for all the great comments folks.. i appreciate it...:)

thanks Nick... as far as the square bottom sheaths go, i just wanted to try this style of sheath out.. certain blade shapes fit this style much better than the standard style... plus the guy who i made this sheath for, asked for this style specifically...:) he loved both the knife and sheath..
