Finishing and Polishing Stabilized Knife Scales?

Hello all! Ive got a question regarding how I should go about polishing the stabilized scales on my knife. Ive tried different oils but have not had much luck with them in getting the glossy finish I want. I have also worked with buffing wheels and different compounds but I have had some trouble with them too. They give me a pretty good finish but after I buff one knife the wheel gets dirty and leaves black smudges on the next knife. Is there a better way to get a glossy finish on my knife scales?
