On a knife with antler handles (whitetail or mule deer) how do you seal/finish the antler?
I read yrs ago about someone using Loktite?
Dont remember who or how they did it. It would take me 2 yrs to go through all my magazines to find the article.

There is no such thing as "good enough", either your work is good or it is not. How is your work?

you can use superglue to coat the antler.Apply a thin layer and let it dry - sand it lightly - new layer - sand - - -.You can do this as often as you like, but I use about 4 coats. All you have to do now is to buff - I use stainless-compound - and the result will be a glaslike shine.Only thing I dont like about it is the fact that it doesn't look natural - more like plastic.

I use Aero Gloss model airplane sprayon dope. Its a high end laquer.2 coats with a light buffing in between with 0000 steel wool. Then wax with renasance wax.I'll send you a pic.
