finishing diamondwood

How do you finish diamondwood? Hand sand to 800 or so, and that is it, or do you apply a hand rubbed oil after sanding?

Buff it with green or white rouge after sanding.
Or, keep sanding up to 2500 grit.
An oil finish won't do much, if anything for laminated wood.
A coat of paste wax will make it look shiny.
