Hi friends,

looking for some tips and ideas on how makers finish their hollow handle pins, including lanyard tubes. So far, I have been using Q-tips and cleaners and I need to step it up. I work mostly with stainless and G10 tubes. What do you guys do to get them to sparkle on the inside?

Thanks!

Best method I've found is to strip up old or broken high grit Jflex grinding belts into say 1/4" wide pieces, stick it though and got a shoe shine action going and just go all the way around the inside. And at the same time you can be rounding the edges off.

Thanks sir. Will give that a shot...I happen to have a few old belts around :)

IDK they looked bad on the inside?

do you mean deep in the tubing, or at it's entrance/exit?

BTW I found the perfect bit for radiusing the pin hole: A zero flute countersink
Mcmaster Carr carries them ( Link removed)

Everything else chattered or was inconsistent.

Those Do work really nice.
I just bump them by hand, holding my work piece gentling pressing up into the bit that is in the chuck.

+1 to the zero flute.

As for cleaning any epoxy out of my lanyard tubes, I normally just run a drill bit that's a thou or two smaller than the tube ID.

PLEASE folks, do not put links to Non-Bladeforums sellers in your posts. Read the sticky on the rules about this. Mention who has it, say what it is, say you like it, etc. Just don't post prices or links.
Thank You - Moderator
