Finishing knot for Izula wrap?

Disappointed with the knot I am using to finish the "standard" wrap on my Izula. I am using a simple double overhand knot (I think). Can do what is essentially a Square knot as well, but don't care for either.

Can someone give me a better, cleaner knot?

And I have also wrapped the cord in the same direction and took both tag ends and wrapped them under the last cinch, which worked OK, but continually comes loose. In a moment of Brain Fart I pulled on the para and almost took off a few fingers(knife was quickly extracted from the sheath, since I did not grab the handle vs the sheath)

You could melt away the excess, just use a bic lighter catch the end of the paracord on fire, when it gets close to the desired length put the flaming cord out by pressing it on a piece of wood or metal. Careful if it gets on you it will burn and if it drops it sticks to whatever it hits.

I'll try to explain the knot I use, but it's kind of hard to do without showing you. I wrap the ends around the ring the same way, then when they get to the top I pass them through the main section of the handle. Then they come up through the ring, and get tied in a square knot. The loose ends go back through the ring, and get tied off once more. It looks like this:

I really like that look. I am going to try it on mine when I get it.

Would you be offended if I told you that you were my new Hero????

For those who's knuckles drag when they walk, like mine do, please pay special attention to what he is refering to as the handle and the ring. If you do not have both sections of cordage running parallel from the top of the ring, direction across the center of the ring in the end of the handle, and looped under the under the ring in the handle.....you are wrong.

Also, I used 5.5 ft of orange 550. I am left with only about 5-6" remaining with this knot and it's not enough to overhand the tag ends for a loop. fwiw

Completion time of 7 minutes from picture reference only. You're up......

many thanks

The left over cord I would cut about a 1/4th on an inch from the knot and use a lighter to burn the ends to keep them from fraying. Congrats on tying it by the way

edit: if your going for pretty looks then use a stove eye instead of a lighter, it wont turn the end of the para cord black. Me i really don't care about looks to much so I just melt the ends with a lighter :D.

heres what mine looks like

As much as I'd like to take credit for that knot, I think I got it from someone in the izula pics thread. Glad you guys like it though.
