Guys,
I ran a search on this in the archive and didn't come up with anything.

My question is this: What needs to be done in order to finish oosik? Any laquer, epoxy, super glue, etc. used in the process?

I've never worked this stuff before and just bought a peice today. Guess I need to know how to finish it now

Thanks!

It doesn't hurt to get it stabilized. I usually sand it with a tube of super glue in my hand. It has voids and when the sanding uncovers one, I just put on a drop of super glue and keep on sanding. the glue and the powdered ossic fill the void and it looks fine. This same is true of ancient bone. For finishing, I just fine sand and polish with white rouge. Works for me.
