Can you treat silk cord like nylon with the superglue or epoxy treatings? I know it's supposed to lay a lot nicer than nylon, but can it be "finished" the same?

I use parachute cord with the core removed for my wraps. I finish with a superglue "soaking", then if you like, you can dip it in varathane that's been thined a bit more than usual so's not to have the underlying steel end up rusting. And if you want to see exactly how the Japanese do a traditional wrap, go to the link below. I've found it most helpful. They even have different names for the knots on "each side" of the grip... You should copy this (these...)pages as there's no telling when they'll disapear.

I've used that method on paracord, and nylon wraps but not sure if it works well on silk.
