Finishing stone recommendations needed

I've recently gotten back into freehand sharpen after selling my set of DMT stones to fund an Edge Pro so I'm trying to put together a decent set of stones without spending to much money. So far I've got Lansky diamond benchstones in medium(280grit), fine(600), and xfine(1000) grit so I just need a finishing stone that will work well on wear resistant steels like S30V and D2 and costs under $100. The three options I've come up with so far are the XXFine DMT, UF Spyderco, or a 4K waterstone. Which would you guys choose? I'm also open to other ideas as long as its within my budget. Thanks:)

The spyderco cuts a litle slow, so if you go that route, you may want the M and F as well. I think DMT still makes a medium XF which would work. There is an odd jump between the XF and XXF. Having never used waterstones really, i have no opinion there.

Thanks for your input I'm leaning towards the fine Spyderco is it significantly finer then an extra fine DMT? Also how do the Spyderco stones do with the very wear resistant steels like Cpm-M4 or M390?

FYI, I have read that people progress from the DMT F or XF and then go to the Spyderco Fine and Ultra fine stones. Hope it helps!

The ceramic will do fine with any steel its waaaay harder. I would start with the UF ceramic and then add the fine if needed.

Thanks for the help guys I just placed an order for the UF Spyderco hopefully it won't be to big of a jump from the extra fine diamond.
