Finishing the polish of G10

I have polished the scales of one folder with G10 scales. I used wet 800 and 1000 grit sandpaper, the water also solves the dust problem. After that I used Dremel with polishing wheel. I need to know if I should use some kind of lacquer to seal the surface? Could two part epoxy be used if needed? Or urethane lacqueur?

No need for anything at all. Give it a spray with some wd40 and a quick wipe and it's good to go. Any pictures to share?

It cleans the dust off and shines up the g10. Simply washing it works fine too.

I must say I am not happy with this yet.

Not really glossy yet. I am beginning to think that to get real shine on G10 some lacqeur would be needed. Anyway, after a thorough rub with fine steel wool and a coat of car wax this is good enough for now. At least the surface is even.

Sand it to 2000 grit, and buff it (by hand) with Simichrome on a coarse cloth. Leave the Dremel alone. The little polishing wheels don't have enough surface area to effectively polish something that big. Wax afterward.

Thank's. How about fine steel wool, what is the grit of that? Would it do the trick?

0000 steel wool leaves about an 800 grit scratch pattern, which is fine before using a buffer.
