Hello gents,

what do you folks do in sequence for finishing a blade up.

the only thing I ever did in the past is 120 grit and sandblast and left it at that.

anyway after grinding with 120 where do you go from there before heat treat and then what do you do after heat treat for a satin finish ?

do you hand rub and or buff in any order.....?

I played with a flat grind on a practice piece last night and was wandering what to do next.

when I made stuff a few years back I would sand with 120 and maybe a scotch brite wheel and then sand blast. but Im looking to do nicer stuff now.

BTW I picked up a grinder at sears last night its a 2x42 2 wheel but the palten comes off and there is plenty of space for slack belting and I can use 1" belts too.

nice thing is the belt lies flat for thinning scales if I need to.

im sure ill get more machines later(ill need a bigger basement) .Im looking at a power wrapper for my custom rods and I have a wood lathe comming for doing reel seats now knife stuff.
