I got a Lucky One in on Friday and it seems like a really nice little slip joint it's smooth sharp and light, I was impressed. I've never bought any Cold Steel because of the marketing therefore I've never tried a Triad lock and I figure it's now time to remedy that so yesterday I orderd a Finn Wolf.

Is the Finn Wolf a good representation of the Triad lock? I really don't want to spend a lot of money to try it and it seemed it was the cheapest way to get into one but if it doesn't represent well I'll cancel.

yes pretty much. it is a tri-ad so........

also look at the working man and the pro lite for budget tri-ads......

The F.W. is a nice little folder Chris. Roughly the overall size of a standard Swiss Army knife, but maybe a little narrower. It appears to have the same Tri-ad lock as the other models, just on a smaller scale as per the size of the knife. You should be happy with it.

i have a finn wolf used it as edc for quite some time. its as tough as nails...good tri ad but as said, a little bit smaller when compared to recons or a spartan. so it prob wont hold 300lbs but it wont close up on you...thats for sure

I got it about an hour ago and was going to play with it a bit on my afternoon walk but it started pouring with a rain and snow mix so that'll be on hold until tomorrow.

It really is a nice little knife it locks up tight, it's pretty smooth for fresh out of the box, it's certainly sharp, and the triad isn't as hard to operate as the internet has lead me to believe it's a nice knife and defiantly worth the money. I had considered playing with it for a day or two then throwing it on the exchange since I really just wanted to try a triad but I think I'm going to keep it.

Thanks folks

I just bought one as a birthday gift for a friend. It came in sealed plastic but I decided to pop her open. You know, quality check. It seems solid. Hope he likes it.

My first was a Recon 1 in AUS8A that was deeply discounted because CS was switching to a better steel on many of their knives. I still have it and use it quite often. It has scraped gaskets, cut boxes and hard plastic, sliced fruit, even cut through a steel belted tractor tire (dulled but no chips, sharpened right up)! I've also flipped it open and closed thousands of times and it still locks up tight. It's been a beast!

It convinced me of CS's quality so much that I bought a 2nd Recon in CTS XHP but I have yet to use it, the AUS8A R1 just keeps on ticking. If I know I might have some harder knife use for the upcoming day the AUS8A R1 comes with me. I have a 6 CS knives now and I'm pretty happy with them all. CS really stepped up their game and might have the best bang for your buck folders on the market.

I just realized that I haven't bought a single folder from another company since I got my first CS Recon 1. I have a bunch of Spydies, a few SOGs, and a couple Kershaws but CS just keeps getting my money. I don't forsee that changing much this year, although Spyderco did have a few that peeked my interest. CS is top of my list though, they get my money first.

Pretty much the same here. I grab this or that but center around C.S. It's hard to find better value, imagination of design, or sheer toughness, for the buck.

I took the Finn Wolf an my new kabar out to the woods for a bit stress relieving today and man where have Scandi grinds been all my life. That thing will just grab into the wood and cut.
