Bought one of these just for laughs today... here's a little review:

Ok heres the whole thing. The bag is roughly 12"(w) x 10"(h) x 5"(d). The little tower is the infamous "torni logo". For anyone who has served in the Finnish army, thats the symbol of extreme discomfort! :D The bag is made from some cordura-kind of nylon. I think one could propably tow a truck with this.

A new bag costs 5 EUR, and as a bonus you get an authentic non-used finnish gas mask (propably from the 70s). The mask is basically operational, its not deactivated or anything, but the filter is most likely out to date, so its not something you wanna use while playing with dangerous chemicals. But, in case of Zombies, this mask will definately give you all the street cred you need. The mask and the filter are in the main compartment, but the rest of the stuff is in the smaller pouches, that can be closed with two buttons.

The mask, a filter, some kind of cleaning powder, a few cleaning cloths, and an instruction sheet telling you what to do in case of battle gases, napalm, or nuclear explosion (=Put on your gas mask, get under your rain poncho, and brush fallout off with spruce twigs. I kid you not). This will definately be handy in the woods! :D

This is what I could easily fit in the little pouches after taking out the gas mask stuff (from left to right): gerber gator, magnesium bar, UK light with some duct tape wrapped around it, whistle, emergency poncho, some zip lock bags, emergency gauze (the green thing on the top), snake bite kit, water purification tablets, matches and cotton in an old medicine container, paracord, space blanket, and an orange garbage bag.

All packed up. To show the size of the main compartment, I put in it a Mora Classic, binoculars, a power bar, a tube scarf and a 16oz water bottle. With this load, the bag is still relatively comfortable to use. The shoulder strap is pretty narrow, so if Id wanna carry anything heavier in this bag, Id definately need some padding added. As it is, the bag is actually pretty ok for carrying this kinda load.

Summary:

value: 5/5
materials: 4/5
comfort: 1/5

Thanks for the review. I've heard only good things about those finnish gasmask bags.
I only have a german one made of rubber which is kinda uncool.

For the price these are excellent, no doubt.

As an EDC, I think I'll keep using my MX Jumbo. Ill keep the PSK stuff packed in this bag though, since on most short dayhikes I dont need more than what I can carry with this.

wo hoo! Guys we have Indiana Jones in the house!

Nice setup! is it possible to change the strap to a thicker one?

We're twinsies! I got one at the last gun show for five bucks. I love mine. Especially with the little waist strap so it doesn't flop around.

You know that little 'inside' piece of elastic, at the bottom corner? It will perfectly secure a naglene/guyot sized bottle.

I am going to have to look at getting one of those, I wonder if CTD still has them. Plus the gas mask would be awesome for Halloween!

Thanks for posting this! Could either of the two who have this post a pic wearing the bag? Just to see the scale. I have a British MK VII which I use as my bush bag. I may have to order this, thanks!!!

I have one of the Finnish GM bags. Didn't come with the mask, but it made a heck of a vehicle kit bag. Switched over to another bag and didn't like it. Went looking for the Finnish bag and it was hanging out with the lost socks I guess. When I find it, it'll get used again.
