Im looking at the Finnish Puuko and Leuku blades in carbon steel.

Does anyone have any experience with these blades and a link to a good site to buy them.

Thanks

Chef

Try this site.

Seems he has all that sort of stuff.
I don't have any experience with the Finnish blades, BTW. But everyone who mentions having one seems to love them.

Yes, Ragnar's is the place to go. You can try BensBackwoods, ThompsonsKnives, DiscountCutelry, et al, too, just to name a few, but nobody carries Scandinavian inventory like ragweedforge.

I don't have any experience with puukos, but I do with scandi-grind Moras, Helles, and EnZos. For sheer sharpness, the scandi-grind is my favorite, with the convex grind a close second.

There's people in Traditional section who have used www.Lamnia.fi to get their puukkos and liked it. They ship fast into the states and it seems american's don't need to pay VAT...

It's are a royal pain in the ass that the rosseli's have a secondary bevel or I'd buy like 10 of them.

I am not sure I understand your question. Let me try to answer at least to some extent.

Roselly is not like Helle which has like very thick edge and no grind. It has really really thing edge and half width flat grind. It has edge from the beginning - you may see it in shop pictures (as well my custom pukko from Hankala). I think it is only certain models - like Helle really has that edge/grind mixed together.

I found this thinerst from what I see so far before - before only Microtech was offering this great feature, but Roselli is even thinner.

In result it is very easy to sharpen and it penetrates whatever you cutting so easy - it is even pleasant, like no pressure at all. I am now looking for more and more projects just to use those knives.

And handles - I usually damage my palm during testing and wear gloves to trick myself into cutting 200 times manila 1/2" rope - like it is protection... But with Roselli I found myself at the end that I forgot about gloves and my palm just feel some discomfort a bit - no usual damage, just little irritation, little redness.

Thanks, Vassili.

i really, really, dont like scandi grinds. pretty knives though and i like their overall form, especially their handles. i dislike the scandi style blade so very much, regardless

None of my 5 Roselli's came with a secondary bevel of any real sort. I will stipulate to a micro-bevel on all 5 of them. I suppose a micro is a secondary of sorts but I would offer to all who read this that, with my 5 anyway, I have to hold the thing up to the light just right to see the micro-bevel. Even after some stropping (which I think all Roselli's benefit from even right from the factory) I cannot imagine that the micro-bevel on any of mine exeeeds .1 millimeter in width...that's one tenth of one millimeter to be clear. I have stropped my Roselli Hunter, regular steel, to scary sharpness. Roselli is not for the Finnish traditionalist for sure, be he is hard and fast to the spirit of Finnish knives.
