Well, after I got done jogging today I ran into a couple buddies down by the trail... So after dumbing arounbd tossing rocks in the water for a while, I found some drift wood perfect for use to start a fire from friction.

So I started rubbing the skinny stick up and down to wear a tench in the bigger stick. After a while it seemed to be working real good, and there was fairly consistant smoke coming up; but thats all I could get. After spending like 30 minutesd rotating between us, we gave up because it just wouldnt get past the smoking to form a coal. I wonder if it was too windy? But then again, maybe wind would help oxygenate. Can anybody give some pointers as to how to go from smoke to coal on one of these things?
