I’ve read that many firefighters prefer to use the poll of the flat head fire axe for opening roofs because the poll never gets stuck. What was your preference?

We used a chainsaw with a diamond coated chain. Used axes on walls. Pike poles for ceilings.
A little bit of water too.

ive have opened serveral roofs usings both axes and power equipment.
either way, swing a axe , work a pike pole or fire up a saw. it has to be done......NOW

hats off to all FFs and first responders here on the site.
