Hey guys,
Just have a few questions on sharpening a knife I have.
From what I understand it's meant to be used outdoor camping and can be for meal preparation to cutting wood.
I have asked the German makers what they sharpen to and they said simply said 18 degrees.
I have found a video however it's in German, but I turned on subtitles with English translation and from what I can tell you measure the secondary grind angle of 18 degrees from the primary, that tells me the actual angle will be above 20 degrees from the spine to the secondary.
Is that correct? I can barley see a secondary edge from factory and it almost looks as if its meant to be a 3/4inch scandi grind. The video explains its meant to be convex and from factory it doesn't look it.
But if anyone has an opinion on best way to sharpen this blade I am all ears. Bonus if your fluent in german
Here's the video: the part I'm references is between 00:40 and 01:40
Here is some data from the website
