Fire starter or Sharpener for Mountaineer I handle

I just got my new silver Mountaineer I from CRK. Anybody know of a firestarter or sharpener that will fit inside the handle?

I carry the Scout model that I ordered from Bagheera on these forums.I had to remove the plastic handle in order to make it fit.It works well with the waxed trips that Bagheera sends with his Firesteels.I keep one in all of my hollow handle knives and then fill the rest of the space with the waxed strips.
Now you said SILVER,never seen that before.Is it a new offering from the fine folks of CRK?I checked their website and saw nothing of the sort.Can you post a picture?

It was a special order from CRK, costing a few bucks more than the standard. I already owned a black Aviator, and wanted something difffernt for my Mountaineer. And, of course, CRK was very helpful and friendly when I ordered.

That is sweet.I will be ordering one very soon.What type of coating does it have?

It's a silver Kalgard. The silver coat is more textured, like a bright sandblasted finish, than the smooth standard black. In an old thread on this forum, CRK said their black knives could be recoated in silver.

Check out the Kershaw magnesium firestarter at Russell's For Men. I bought one about six months ago for my Mark VI and used a Dremel to cut down the plastic handle so it fits snugly in the knife's aluminum cap. I still have room in the handle for a small plastic baggie of ground-up Wetfire tinder.
