With an inordinate amount of rain this year, it is still a little chilly in the mornings.
Let's get a fire going to warm up.🔥

(1) Fluff up some jute twine.

Battening a piece of Australian Blue Gum.
A timber noted for its straight grain, long burning time, good coals and tendency to split easily.
No drama for the Ka-Bar.

Place the blade on your tinder and use the firesteel on the top edge to create your sparks.
I always prefer this method as it gives more control in relation to your sparks, plus less chance of cutting yourself with the blade.
