Ok, I have a magnesium fire starter that works great. However I've seen a lot of you on here with strikers that slide on the side of your sheath (I like those)
Also some are kept on key chains. I've done some research into the matter and am no closer to picking one. The Badger was talked about on a previous thread, looks pretty good. Fire steel. Swiss arm fire steel, etc.
What are your personal experiences, what do you recommend. Thanks.

I like the Nanostriker. It has a waterproof case that reverses to make a handle, a hardened striker (so you don't have to use your Wm. Henry blade), two holes for key chain attachment, and threaded replacement ferrocerium rods. It weighs 16 gm. and runs about $25-$30. A pyromaniacs delight.

I use the Cougar firesteel from going gear, and use one of their strikers. Only use about 1: of the end of it, so when it is worn down, I can just move back another inch and so on. Works very handily.

I've gone back to using a Strikeforce. It damn near throws a flame off the rod when you strike it with authority.

Thanks for the suggestions. I like the Nanostriker very small might get for key chain. I also like the strike force a lot bigger than I want, but I like that It has a tinder compartment. I could stuff petroleum soaked cotton balls in it.

Please some more recommendations, I'm hoping to see one fire starter mentioned more than others. Thanks for the help.

Any of the mischmetal steels appear to be the favorites. I just got the ESEE version and like the large handle and storage space.
