I figured I'd show how easy it is to light the split stick tinder bundles that I posted about yesterday. No worry of scattering the tinder everywhere if you knock it with your ferro-rod or hand.

What I hadn't planned on was leaving my ferro-rod at home ! Not wishing to waste my tinder bundle I decided to try using the stump of a ferro-rod that I've been meaning to replace on my car keys.
If anyone has one smaller and uses it to light natural tinder I take my hat off to ya !!!

Once lit these are very hard to put out and can be used to light your camp fire or even as a makeshift camp torch !

On my hike today I caught another little Garter snake, this one had red markings which I don't come across too often. He was much livelier than the one yesterday and really didn't want his pic being taken !!!!
