I have had this sitting in my shop for about a year now and finally hooked it up. It was made by Rigel Hunter and is Kaowool lined and coated in Satanite.

I hooked up the blower with a rheostat to control the air flow.

I found that with the blower moving at full speed and the gas set at about 4 PSI (yes 4 PSI) that I get the best efficiency and it comes up to a full weld heat in a VERY short time.

I would say that it is it at least 100% more efficient that my NC forge and gets to a much higher temp.

I might forge out some cable today. Next acquistion is a power hammer.

IG...here is a pic of the burner assembly and the blower also.

The burner pipe has an aluminum air flow diverter, like a fan blade, just beyond the gas fitting.

I welded up some cable for a small hunter this afternoon and the heat was great. I am in awe of how fast this one gets hot. After a bit of forge welding, the forge settled into a nice dull roar. I found that after about 6 min or so, I could cut the gas back to under 2-3 psi and it would run fine. This is with the air turned all the way up.

Hmmm...I will keep that in mind.....actually what I used was a ceiling fan speed control. I could see where at gate would work great though.
