Say that three times in a row, really fast.
I try to sweeten the pot at the local, spring fireman's festival, by donating a knife, for auction. This is an all volunteer dept and it is up to the community to show support, in whatever way they can. This is how I showed my support this year.
Blade W-2 6 1/4"
Overall 11 1/4"
Stabilized black walnut burl handle.
Copper trimmings
The guard was forged "against the grain" using a piece of wrought iron jail bar, circa 1890's.
If you look closely you can see that the face of the guard was, upset or smooched
, using a press. I wanted the grain of the wrought iron to run parallel with the handle then bend down along the finger guard. For comparison, the piece of WI between the walnut and copper spacer was forged with the grain.
Happy to answer any questions, Fred
