After a computer reformat I had to download the latest version of firefox, 29.0.1 and the remember passwords function doesn't work. It can't be clicked or selected, and it's totally grayed out. Does anybody know if this is a bug to the current version in need of being fixed? Because I've already looked over the mozilla help site, and the instructions aren't applicable in this case.

It's been a while since I was a heavy Firefox user so, I'm not real current with your version of the browser.

Make sure you have any "identity" information entered. Your password "archive" was probably wiped so, you may need to use the "forgotten password" features of the websites you want to visit. Any full hard drive reformat will wipe existing data archives.

I made sure to copy down all my passwords and the sites they're assigned to. But when I try and sign in there's no "remember password" option for when I sign into the sites.

You may have to delete and re-install Firefox again. I just downloaded the latest version and it works fine for me.

What is selected when you go to Tools > Options > Security > Passwords ?
Is the box checked to enable the function?

Well after a lot of hunting and searching I finally figured it out. To enable password remembering, you need to select custom settings on remembering your browsing history.
