Firetac

I've handled a legitimate firetac and can tell you the blade engraving + clip look correct to me.

Here is a flashover for example, I'm thinking it could be on either side of the older models. The clip I know should be legitimate.

From what I can tell that is legitimate. I would guess it was made about 15 years ago and the blade (I think) is most likely S30V.
Nice score.

And now it's on EvilBay. This sure is happening a lot lately.

Yep this type thing is why I don't post a lot in these type threads.

If you want help identifying a knife to sell, be honest and ask. Thread may get a lock but also might be helpful too, depends on the tone.

It's also why I never tried making a Generation identifying sticky like R's very informative one. It helps sellers a lot.

Yep, I'm not likely to keep answering these threads anymore. Hell, the last one other than this one turned into a shouting match!

Roger that. I would like to see all "RHK Regulars" ignore the obvious trial balloon Threads/Posts as well as the ones that are obviously just "Troll".

I look at content, tone, prior post area and activity as well who seems to be either friend or tag along in threads, reveals a lot.
It just gets old as I said, get tired of the forum getting used for personal monetary gain.
NOT what it was intended and personally - won't support it.
Like N2K said, somebody posts and is honest or an exchange occurs as a result - no problem, but to just come on to raise awareness and get an idea of price range in order to go on the bay or whatever ........ Nah, I call B.S.

I whole heatedly agree... there has been more and more misrepresentations on that site. I for one appreciate Rich's informative sticky on generations and additional information. Considering the information in Rich's sticky and the ability to search through all the posts for select information, there exists a wealth of information here if one simply takes the time to look. Sometimes silence is the best way to combat insincerity....

Yep, saw this one as well on eBay, noticed it got listed about a day and a half ago, I knew right away when I saw the location was "Slovakia" and remembered this thread. I had a feeling on this one unlike the numbnut with the Krein regrind thread which I should have known better but didn't completely.

I like to help people, but if they are only doing it just to list it on eBay or sell it in the forums, I say do your own research. That is one reason I like the XM thread, that way the sellers can read it and hopefully list it accurately and not bother creating a thread disguising their intentions.
