Where are you going for the fireworks this year? In years past, it has been a hassle getting in and out of the local town that I've gone to since I was a kid, Bel Air in Harford County Maryland. My family would go to my father's shop, and wait for the traffic to die down, took about an hour.

After a couple years, we went to my uncle's house, who lived a couple blocks away from the high school where the fireworks are actually set off. The entire extended family would walk over.

Over the past couple years, I either didn't go, or sat at home watching the display neighbors would put on in our little neighborhood valley.

I'm weighing whether or not I want to ride about ten minutes north to the little town of Stewartstown PA and watch the town fireworks (if they're even having them this year), or stay at home with a couple hard ciders. Yep, it would be a good idea to find out when the fireworks are :o . I think that they will be on Saturday or Sunday, instead of Wednesday.

Are you putting on a display at home? Going out for fireworks? Will you be on vacation watching the fireworks display? What kind of fireworks will you be setting off at home?

Just a few fireworks for the kids at home, nothing spectacular. Used to spend a couple grand a year on fireworks but now that I'm buying knives, the last two years have been pretty tame.

I bunched my vacation all together and I'm off for 31 days to enjoy the summer with my daughter.

Always go to Purdue to catch the fireworks display and it's always a pain in the butt getting home.

Fireworks have been illegal in this city and county for more than thirty years, and we have a burn ban in effect as well. The last time I checked, it was 109.6°F, humidity was 5% and the wind was blowing 21 m.p.h. The last thing we need is fireworks.

Besides that, YOU'LL PUT YOUR EYE OUT!

Fireworks are illegal here for the same reasons. Also, our town doesn't have enough money to waste on this crap.

Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention we've had less than 12" of rain in the last two years. I thought I heard someone shooting fireworks last night, but it turned out to be the right front tire blowing out on my truck.

Shooting off your own fireworks is illegal in much of Southern California because of the fire danger. But there are a number of local city displays. My house is on a hill. From my back yard I can see better than half a dozen skyrocket displays.

I picked up some big bottle rockets and roman candles and some big fire crackers when I was driving out here. Some friends and I had a fun time drinkin' and firing a few when the hills were packed with snow. 300 + homes have been destroyed and more than 30,000 evacuated here due to the dry conditions and the winds and the fire. My local public fireworks display has been cancelled due to the danger. I will not light anything other than a cigarette or two next Wednesday. I will probably be celebrating the Fourth with only a couple of beers and some good food. :( Nevertheless, the meaning of this anniversary will never be lost to me. :)

We always try to catch at least one of the big displays at the local "Fair St. Louis", a typical full-bore professional show with accompanying music.
As well, the local parks department does a pretty good show at the park virtually next door to us.
Fireworks are illegal here in the St. Louis area, but you could never tell that....

They banned fireworks in my town a couple years ago, but I happen to live about 400 feet from the border of the next town over where they're still legal

So many people in Renton still shoot them off, that the cops don't even bother with us on the Kent border. We figure, as long as we're safe and smart, we're fine. My family and a few neighbors typically set up chairs at the cul-de-sac and we set off some smaller stuff, maybe a few morters here and there.

Normally, I take in at least one big show a year and then light some of the small stationary jobs with family of friends. Driving across the country, I kept passing these big fireworks store along I-70 in the mid-west. I picked a few up in Indiana but I'm not stupid enough to light any roman candles or bottle rockets under these fire danger conditions. Plus, I have a feeling THE MAN will be cracking down on the do-it-yourselfers this year.

Most years I do them here at my own house. However, due to lack of rain, and the extreme dry conditions, I am choosing to not do any this year. I will hold off and hopefully have some snow on the ground for NYE.

Right now Utah is like one big piece of tinder, I doubt there will be much in the way of aerials this year. I just read where we had 121,000 acres burn this week! You can't believe the number of stands selling fireworks, I think one on every corner in populated areas.

Well, the powers that be have announced the municipal fireworks display will go on this year. I guess that 0.01" of rain we got a couple of days ago made all the difference. So if you don't hear from me anymore you'll know the idiots managed to light the county. It should take about 20 minutes for the whole thing to burn.

Sorry to hear that everyone's fireworks have been cancelled, but the trade off is more important than a half hour of joy. I saw the local fireworks last night, might go to my uncle's house and see fireworks tonight, or go down on the water and see the display at Havre de Grace.
