Here is one of the first 30 inch Sirupatis we received yesterday. As you can see it is a pretty attractive khukuri and here are the specs.

length -- 30 + a fraction
Width -- 2 inches
Thickness -- almost 5/8
Weight -- 4. 75 pounds about
Karda and chakma are about 8.5 inches, the karda being a using knife in itself. Two knives for the price of one.

This khukuri is meant for heavy use. Advisor on this particular model was old master Kami, Krishna, who opted for the unusual cho as his mark on the manufacture of the blade. Krisha felt this khukuri might be subjected to very heavy use so advised Kumar to put in the thickness and weight. "Thick blades don't bend or break, thin ones do."

Everything about the rig rates a 10 out of 10 so there is not much more flowery stuff to be said. It is a top quality khukuri meant to be used.

Uncle, I really like that cho. Would there be any chance of having that cho applied to my 18" sirupati please? That would be a bonus indeed.

Cheers for now,

QL.

I think that may be the heaviest khukuri I have ever seen.

My 20" AK weighs only 3.5 lbs.

Maybe it's time to trade up?

If I were to order the sirupati or the big KK how long would it take to get one. In other words how long is the waiting list? I cannot decide which one. Another quiick qustion... How long till those blems that you told us about while you were in Nepal?

Ha! Nice try Uncle. I'm already in the hole too far with H.I. I will get one, oh yes it will be mine. The only question is when??

Good looking blade. Nearly five lbs seems kinda heavy though. Would that make it neccessary to use two hands to wield it effectively? I know the purpose was to make it less likely to break, but I like the idea of a truly lightweight devestating martial arts weapon!
Hey!- Quiet Limey. I don't suppose Richard Thompson is a Kukri fan, is he?
Always a pleasure Uncle Bill,

These 30 inch Sirupatis were made by Kumar with the advice and a little help from a couple of old timers. (See 100 years of experience thread). He will probably make the majority of the 30 inch Sirupatis since he likes to make long blades.

If this is more weight than you want, Sut, opt for the 30 inch King Kobra at about half the weight.
