I don't know how I've spent 50+ years on the planet without one of these beauties.

It's a / stamp and doesn't appear to have ever been used or carried. I will remedy that quickly.

That's a 1993 mfg. it will have 420 steel. The Duke is a handsome knife. Glad you obtained one. A good size to carry around town. DM

Looks great... Hope to see a new picture of it on the SPS... ;)

What is the SPS?

Sorry, I'm a forum noob.

I've been a hunter and knife lover for decades, but joining this forum has been fuel on the fire!

Thank you. Yes, I knew the / is 93 thanks to the info on this forum. I am actually looking for \ lock backs. That was the year some friends gave me my first Buck LB, a 112 \. I never used it since a Kershaw 1050 was my go to hunting knife and a 307 my EDC. So I thought it'd be fun to collect all the 94s. Then I saw this 500 and figured two years wouldn't hurt (plus I loved the looks).

It gets worse: a 110 and 112 \ are on the way, plus a Boy Scout 500 /. And waiting auction results on 501 & 503 \ knives.
Seems to be a lot if 1994 vintage 112s, but not so many 500 series.

Fortunately, wife is out if town till Sunday on a scrapbook retreat, so she won't be here when most of the rest arrive:-)

SPS is short for Sunday Picture Show.
ItsTooEarly starts a thread every sunday for us to post photos and appreciate each other's knives :)
For me, it is one of the high points of the week :)
You will see some fantastic stuff.
But beware, you might end up with a case of knife envy.... :D

Well, Jamestap, now you can enjoy the classy addiction to Buck knives and spend time hiding purchases from the Chief. Not to worry, you are in good company. ;)
