I looked at this pouch awhile back and thought that it might make nice small first aid kit as it was flat and had multiple pockets, turns out it does :)

not a high trauma kit, but a useful kit for hiking/hunting/fishing

contents:

6 3x3" pads
2 4x5" tegaderm pads
3 steri-strip packs
2 triple antibiotic cream
3 Celox packs
small meds
tweezers
nitrile gloves

Great idea! I've got a bunch of first aid stuff in my pack, but keep a bandaid dispenser in a slightly more convenient spot on my pack. That just takes it to a whole different level. :D

I really like that pouch. Doesn't have the Maxpedition logo visible on the outside when mounted:)
Been meaning to get one, but put it off because the larger 1st aid pouch it was going to be mounted on the outside of didn't work out. Was just going to use it for latex gloves, but that's a great idea. In my work bag, I have packets of meds from our clinic crammed into little ziploc bags barely wider than the packets. Makes a tiny package, but very hard to get anything in or out of. Think I'll get a couple and see what I can do with them.
Good stuff:thumbup:

Can you fit the same items your neck knife kit in one?

pretty easily I'd say and probably a little more

there's a chance (w/ some tedious re-folding) that even a 1 person heatsheet might fit the upper slot

I've got one of the M-2 Maxpedition's pouches I use for the first aid for my wife & I. Had to go a little bigger to included some of her daily meds. we keep with us no matter where we are. Really was surprised how many items I got into it, and it fits perfect on the outside of the Vulture-II backpack. All of their pouches and bags have a ton of uses you can use them for, no chance of ever running out of ideas . . . .
Be safe.
p.s.: Anybody on here old enough to remember the metal band-aid cans you used to make the first aid kits in the Scouts ? ? ? ? :)

I still have my band-aid tin, but instead of the first aid kid, it's now a Tinder kit. :) Rides in my Buttpack ready for hiking and camping trips. Would love to get a few more tins like it to store 1st aid kits.

MT Warden, nice little kit you have there. Looks perfect for basic needs. I used to carry a kit like + some tape when I lived on a farm. Slinters, scratches and the like were common. Thanks for shairing!!

Wildmanh, did you buy them somewhere or are these the original "Band-Aid" brand tins??
I have looked but can only find them as "collectables" & "antiques", so you know what that means . . . $$$$$$ . . . :)

The 1 Band-aid tin I have I got from my mom's first aid kit back when I was 13 or 14. Had some Prince Albert Tobaco tins I got from my grandfathers old Tackle box. He didn't chew or smoke, just liked keeping bait and lures in them. Wish I still had those

Found a scorce online for round tins that are perfect for tinder tins. Got a few in my kits loaded with natural tinders. Unfortunatly I still have not found nice new Rectangle tins like the old Band-aid and Prince Albert tins.
