I need some help. It seems I have been bitten by some kind of bug and I need to know what the first aid remedies might be. About a year ago I noticed that I had about for or five fixed blade and similar amount of pocket knives. Just recently I decided I'd see what was on ebay for Buck knives and actually got a couple and then these symptoms just kinda stared to appear out of nowhere...
You know the rest, really I just want to get started gathering information on the classic fixed blades and pocket knives. I would also like to learn about ("knifesmithing"?) and in particular the manufacturing processes involved as they would apply to repair and or customizing.
Thanks,
Maniak

Maniak,
Hey, as soon as you find a cure, please keep it to yourself! Welcome to the forums! If you have any questions in particular, ask away. There are quite a few knowledgeable folks that hang out in here. I can not tell you much about knife smithing but may be able to help with the Buck questions.

Take care,

Hey Joe,

Let's just stick to treating the sypmtoms for now ok?

I just got a 311 with a broken and hacked up blade. Can the blade be replaced? The rest of the knife is dirty but decent. So far I'm only out ten bucks.

Thanks,
maniak

Actually, I have the cure for BKS (Buck Knives Syndrome). Here it is: Find and purchase two of each knife that Buck has ever made. Two of each because you'll want one to use and one to put behind glass and grin at. Remember, that's not just two 110's and two 505's and two 422's, etc., that's two of each variation of each model ever produced. :p

So now that you know the cure, you can either run off madly to the happy home or do what most of us do...live with our BKS as well as we can without making our better halves too angry.

Note: The cure lasts only as long as Buck doesn't announce a new knife.

Hey Dave,

Thanks for your support (I think), I was just looking for some first aid here, not being infected with an epidemic freak strain. My weakness is for the 3XX pocket and 1XX fixed classics. My favorite though is the 110 my wife got me as a 20th anniversary gift. She thinks I don't really like it because it sits in a jewelry box and I never use it;) I've also heard the Tiburon whisper my name. I just missed one for about $20 on ebay.

Can you hook me up with the info for the BCC?

Thanks,
Bob

Bob,
The 311 has been discontinued for quite a while now but we should still be able to help it out. Just send it in and we will do what we can, under warrantee. I can send you an aplication for the BCC, just email me your adress.
Take care,
