Like the title says this is my first and sixth knife.
Lived in Canada 20+ years ago and built my first knife, it was a bit crude and front heavy but I always thought there was a nicer knife hidden inside.

Before

The blade,guard and pommel were 6mm X 50mm and 25mm X 25mm 01. Handle was from Ebony.

After

Weight : 585g / 1lb 4.6oz
Blade length : 330mm / 13"
Handle length : 160mm / 6.25"
Steel : 01 - 6 X 50 mm / .25 X 2"
Blade grind/finish :Full flat grind, Satin finish 400 grit
S - guard : Wrought iron etched
Handle : Nickel / Cocobolo (end grain) / Nickel / Ebony / Irish antler

Very light in the hand and there's nice flex to the blade, balance point is about 25mm from the guard towards the tip. I've smaller knives that feel heavier.
Honed with course medium and fine oil stones then run on a Tormek leather wheel, does the hair shaving thing.
An Irish take on an American classic.

The final version really turned out nice. Remarkable skill demonstrated for just a sixth knife.:thumbup:

I really like the transformation. Your skills have really come together. Visually speaking it would have been nice to see a smooth arc in the handle but that's nit picking. Love the shape of the blade and guard.

I love seeing the improvement from one knife to another:) Great job, even if it was your 50th:thumbup:

Yeah the diameter of the antler caught me there and with the size of the tang coming out from the rear of the guard it was a compromise, I would have liked a smooth arc in the handle myself. Maybe next time
