First assisted opener-Tempest

Hey guys,

I've been kinda ponderng the AO question for a while now. Would like to have one but other things were on the "must have" radar. Recent web special Sirus thread got me thinkin again and then my buddy picked up a Tempest 295 420hc on his droid phone by mistake one night while he and his wife were over for a few beers. By mistake supposedly hit confirm when he didnt mean to. Hey ive used that one before...whatever works:D He got it and let me fondle it on Mem. Day after golfing. I liked it alot. Checked the bay tues and found one cheap BIN with no shipping. On top of that, pic showed BOS stamp on rt tang. I questioned the seller if the knife shown was knife delivered. He answered yes. Pulled the trigger, got it today and sure enough, I got me a Tempest with 154cm. I'm a happy boy:)

Thanks ed. I lile the rush as well, may end up with one-like the blue handles. I'm partial to the larger frames though. This one is gonna get some serious pocket time. I've loved playin with it all day. I am howerver, wearing my thumb out on the liner lock as it is pretty darn stiff. I was a little concerned at 1st cause it didnt spring open all the way some times and was slow when it did.:( A couple drops of Hoppes oil took care of that immediatly-she opened like a rocket as soon as I applied it.:thumbup:
 
I got myGF a pink impulse. with in 2 days she had me take off the safety thing. its easy to take of if it gets anoying jsut dont lose the springs and only take one side off

Wow, I dont want to be outdone by a girl, but I know if I took the saftey off, I would go through a lot of pockets. Plus I may cut off the twig or loose a berry............or 2:eek:

LOL, don't do that! BUT if you do, don't post any pics... please! ;)

You will love the Tempest! Its a great EDC knife! Thanks for the sweet pics!

Facebacon, when I got my knife (297 Sirus not Tempest) it was a well used user. I was working on it at work and accidentally separated it. With a lot of patience and the help of a Marine we got it cleaned up and back together. Don't try it at home!

Nice knife,gotta love the steel Buck uses.Which one you guys like best,Tempest or Rush? p.s. Fritz you crack me up.:D
 
I really like the Tempest/Sirus blade shape and profile. I wish that a g10 slabbed knife had been done. Congrats on a nice knife Fritz!!
 
The Rush is a small knife only 6 1/4" opened and 3 7/8" closed. The one I have is new and the safety is a nail breaker. The blade comes out like lightning.
