I finally decided to try an assisted opening knife. We browsed for a while at the different ones. Knowing how my SOG knives have worked well for me in the past, we settled on the SOG brand for this as well.

We ended up with 2 of the SOG Flash II knives (the larger ones), one for mom and one for me (unless my wife likes it, then I will have to get another for myself.).

It is a fun knife to play with and seems very well made. I did manage to put it down long enough to type this :)

I know my mom really likes hers. She does like to have a knife in her purse, but for some reason the one-handers give her problems. She can open them a little, then its like watching a bad ballet when she tries to reposistion her hand to finish opening it. With this, she only needs to get it started and it does the rest. She has found her knife.

The new baby pic.

Hello Richard, Glad you got a Flash II, they are fine knives.
I have had one for a while now and just keeps getting smoother. I may find me one of the Tanto blades, they look nice.:D .

Well I "was" also glad I got one. As feared, my wife liked it so much she took it. I am now without one until I get around to going back to the knife store.

I would be interested to see a view showing the inside and how the knife works. I have no inention of taking this one apart as it would never get put back together right :) Are there pics showing the internals?

Richard, I don't think there are any drawings of the Flash II, and I don't think there has been any posted of them apart. So you may have to get your wifes and "experiment" on it.
:D Hope you get another one real soon.

Robbie Roberson;)
